circa 1800s Original Pencil Drawings of Nursery Rhymes - Offered are four original pencil hand drawn "mock-ups" of drawings which depict four well known children's nursery rhymes. Each measures approximately 6x8 and represents, "Rock a bye Baby", "Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater", "Simple Simon" and "Jack be Nimble." They are very well done and I purchased these with a group of Civil War soldier's letters, which would lead me to believe that they were done some time during this period of American history. I think that they were done for a possible book or to be used as part of some advertisement because below each drawing in pencil is written, "John H. Dockman & Son Inc. Baltimore Maryland." They are a good example of "folk art" from the 1860's and would frame very nicely to be used in a Baby's Nursery or a young child's room..................................$65...................CLICK IMAGE 2
